Stevia Extract is a natural sweetener with zero calories, no carbo hydrates and sugar substitute, extracted from the leaves of the plant species “Stevia rebaudiana. Stevia Extract is processed into fine white powder. Not all stevia extract powders are the same. The taste and sweetness of the various white stevia powders will likely depend on their degree of refinement.

It has proven beneficial for diabetics, obese and hypertensive patients. The white powder is an extract of the sweet glycosides (natural sweetening agents) in the stevia leaf.

There are four kinds of stevia extract powder, namely

 

Stevioside 85% Powder

  • It is white to off-white free flowing pure extract powder.
  • It is 150–200 times (approx.) sweeter than cane sugar with minimal bitter aftertaste in high concentration conditions.
  • Sweetness stays longer in the mouth.
  • Its melting point is 196º-198ºC.
  • It is able to endure high temperature.
  • It is easily dissolvable in ethanol and water.

 

Stevioside 95% Powder

  • It is white to off-white free flowing pure extract powder.
  • It is 300–350(approx.) times sweeter than cane sugar with minimal bitter aftertaste in high concentration conditions.
  • Sweetness stays longer in the mouth and does not disappear easily.
  • The melting point is 196º -198ºC.
  • It is able to endure high temperature.
  • It is easily dissolvable in ethanol.

 

Rebaudioside A 95% Powder

  • It is white to off-white free flowing pure extract powder.
  • It is 300–350 (approx.) times sweeter than cane sugar with minimal bitter aftertaste in high concentration conditions.
  • Sweetness stays longer in the mouth and does not disappear easily.
  • The melting point is 196º -198ºC.
  • It is able to endure high temperature.
  • It is easily dissolvable in ethanol.

 

Rebaudioside A 80% Powder

  • It is white to off-white crystalline powder.
  • It is about 250-300 (approx.) times sweeter than the cane sugar while the calorie is only 1/300th of the cane sugar.
  • Its taste is much closer to the cane sugar without any bitter taste.
  • The melting point is 196º-198ºC.
  • It is resistant to high temperature and more stable in acidic and alkali solution (PH 5-7).
  • It can better the foods’ tastes and improve the quality of the products.

 

Steviol glycoside 95% Powder

  • It is white to off-white free flowing pure extract powder.
  • It is 300–350(approx) times sweeter than cane sugar with no bitter aftertaste in high concentration conditions.
  • Sweetness stays longer in the mouth and does not disappear easily.
  • The melting point is 196º-198ºC.
  • It is able to endure high temperature.
  • It is easily dissolvable in ethanol.

 

Rebaudioside A 97% Powder

  • It is white to off-white crystalline powder.
  • It is about 400-450 (approx.) times sweeter than the cane sugar.
  • Its taste is much closer to the cane sugar without any bitter taste.
  • The melting point is 196º-198ºC.
  • It is resistant to high temperature and more stable in acidic and alkali solution.
